Béaba Babycook Food Maker Review

I’m so excited that my little girl is finally eating solids! Just as I imagined, it’s the cutest thing ever! Looking at her facial expressions as she tries each new flavor makes my heart burst with happiness. It’s beyond cute! With this new journey of flavors for my baby, comes a new journey of making baby food for me. It’s something I had never done before, but I really didn’t think there would be much involved. I plan on making her fresh food everyday, so after the first few days I realized it’s tough to find the time to make fresh baby food, but also it’s just hard to find the energy for it all. I decided to buy the Beaba Babycook baby food maker, but honestly I didn’t think I would make use of it. I was expecting it to be an unnecessary purchase, but it turned out to be the complete opposite. I LOVE this thing! It makes the task of making fresh, organic baby food everyday so quick and easy.

Right out of the box, I noticed how lightweight the food maker is, which is helpful when you’re trying to use it with one hand while holding a baby in the other hand. I gave the parts a quick rinse and it was ready to use. I love when products are ready to use and so simple right out of the box. Makes things so much easier. So inside the box you’ll find a multipurpose spatula, a mixing lid/smoothie filter, and a cute recipe book for meal ideas. This product was made for one-handed use and it performs so many functions that it’s a complete no brainer to purchase it. You can steam cook, blend, and reheat in less than fifteen minutes using just one hand. Another great thing is that it has an alert to let you know when the food is ready. It’s not super loud, but you can hear it over your baby’s adorable babbling.

What I really love is that by steam cooking the baby food, you lock in all the vitamins and nutrients to keep all of the health benefits in the fruits and vegetables. It’s just so easy to use; I don’t see myself ever using store bought baby food. Not that there is anything wrong with store bought baby food of course, but I just enjoy the process of making fresh food for my little girl too much.

I had bought organic sweet potato, avocado, banana, and apple the day before and decided to give them all a try. I came across an easy make-ahead method that I can share with you guys on another post. The banana and avocado were fairly quick, I just cut them into one-inch pieces, threw them into the blender, and in about a minute I had freshly pureed baby food. Cleaning is also super easy, so switching from the avocado to the banana took about a minute or two. Rinsing with hot water does the trick and gets rid of any left over food on the blade. The next fruit I tried was the apple. Again, I cut it into one-inch pieces, threw it into the steaming compartment, and realized I had no idea how to work the steamer! Lol! I never read the instructions and I just kept pressing the steam button expecting it to work without water. It didn’t take long to realize I had to add water into the hole on top of the food maker. The blending area has marks on it labeled 1,2, and 3 so you just fill up the water to the line that is needed to steam each type of food. The instruction manual has a chart to help, but you can honestly just use your judgment. For the apples, I filled up water to the line marked 2, and put it into the compartment. So far, I hadn’t used any extra pots, pans, or cups which was a great plus for me. I closed the lid with the apples inside, pressed the steam button and waited to hear the beeping sound when it was finished. It took about ten minutes and during that time I was actually able to get a few things done around the house. Also, I wasn’t worried about constantly checking on the food to make sure it wasn’t too steamed, or burning as it would with a pot. The next step is where the multipurpose spatula comes in handy. The steamer has two handles that are made to fit the spatula perfectly. So, one handed, you can insert the spatula into the handles and pour it into the blender with ease. Overall, everything about this food maker is so easy to use and well thought-out that I can officially say this is something I will recommend to all moms!
